Well, well, will you look at that.

There's a Gwen at the bar.

She's leaning forward on her elbows, watching the people.

She might be humming "Happy birthday to me."

anna logres, michael, russ harris, gwen russell, preston vasquez

The door opens and admits Russ, who pauses just inside to survey the room.

When Gwen catches sight of him, she smiles.

"Hey there."

He smirks back and grabs a stool. He's still moving a little stiffly to sit.

"Hey y'self."

Her smile may fade, just slightly, at the stiffness.

But she lets it pass.

"How're you doing?"

Anna slips quietly onto a nearby barstool.

After a few moments, she leans forward as well, resting her chin on her hands.

Hey, it's comfortable.

"Is that music to dance to?"

Her smile is crooked--just a little.

Gwen smiles back, though it's a little rueful. Her pitch may not be the best, but even she can't mess up "Happy Birthday," right?

"I don't know," she says. Tilts her head. "Maybe a waltz?"

"It could be, I suppose. Though don't they usually go one two three, one two three?"

"You'd have to get a little creative," she admits.

And wants to say, Guess what it's my birthday!

But refrains, for the moment.

"... So. How're you?"

"Greetings, Oh Ancient One."

Cheerful.

Gwen attempts to give him a sour look, but she really isn't feeling it.

Cheerfuller:

"Hey, Poochie."

Preston accepts this with relative equanimity; he did kind of deserve it, after all.

"How's the birthday girl?"

She smiles.

"I'm good. It's been a good day."

Good = peaceful.

Good also = lacking in zombies.

Although Preston does owe her a present.

Gwen is now convinced that not only does she have not-great pitch, she in fact has the worst pitch ever.

"Uh ... just a little celebrating," she says. And smiles.

"Oh-- my birthday."

She looks a little sheepish now.

"Twenty-six. I feel old."
