At the Exchange:

It's a bit dizzying, being around so many people at once again. He hasn't been to the Wasteland at night yet. Daniel can't even imagine it.

He left his horse back at 'home' for now, not wanting to bring her here until he'd scouted it out. But he brought a list, and a backpack full if things to trade.

The list:

And maybe it's the faint hint of an almost-familiar scent, or maybe it's just that she catches a glimpse of him across rows and rows of cloth, but Anna looks up from her perusal of a flannel blanket and smiles.

"Daniel? So you've found the exchange, then?"

Well, one of them, at least.

"I did." He looks a little overwhelmed, and smiles back at her.

"It's quite the place. Haven't seen this many people in a year, at least."

"Yes. 'Packed' is a good term for it, isn't it?"

She lets go of the blanket and turns more fully toward him.

"But I do like the fact that most of what they have here isn't as ragged or dirty as much of what's left outside."

Some of it is, though. But even that might be good for something.

"Unless you know where to look. But I thought I'd at least come look. I don't want to get mauled by zombies just because I wanted clothespins."

Daniel gestures to his list.

"But I did risk it for a few other things. I've got your jeans and boots."

Chammy stands out in the exhcnage, this quiet, slender woman with a big dog. Sally is useful, really. With her own apartment, she's more just browsing then actually searching for anything.

And the wolfhound helps keeps thieves away.

Biiig dog. Who seems to be sniffing him. Or at least trying to.

"Hello there."

To both woman and dog.

Chammy looks up, and smiles.

"Oh, hello. Um. Is Sally bothering you?"

"Not at all. She's gorgeous. She probably just smells my horse. Or I just need to take another bath." Daniel grins ruefully.

Gwen is happy!

She is happy because she has TWO NEW SKIRTS.

And, because she is happy, she smiles when she (smells) sees Daniel.

"Hey! How's it going?"

"Hey, Gwen." Daniel zips the bedsheets he's holding into his backpack before turning to face her.

"It's a little crazy here."

He smells like freshly turned earth, apples, and still horse.

The smell of earth is curious to her-- and the apples are downright intoxicating.

"Uh ... yeah. I guess, um. If you're not used to it."

She tries very hard not to sniff.

Casual:

"... So where've you been?"

"All around town." It's hard to tell if he's being intentionally vague.

"Looking for a few things in specific, and picked up some other stuff to trade here. It's funny what looters will leave behind."
