Edward picks himself, moving in slow-motion. Which should be just called "zombie-motion" since he always moves this slowly. He shuffles to the doorway, sniffing at the air. He smells flesh. Not exactly human. But it's in the store next door. The two stores have collapsed into one another, so that there is a gaping hole in the wall.
He slowly inches his way, peers through this gaping hole, and spies the vampires. Picking up a piece of splintered wood, he tosses it in their general direction.
