[He's very confused by what she's doing, so he's going to see what she's up to.]

Miss Sayaka, may I ask why it is you are shouting?

[There's some background noise as she clumsily picks up the Dreamberry.]

M-Maestro Chopin! I... I-I-I...! When was this... Why is this on?!

[Oh god. Ohgodohgodohgod. She could tolerate the other magical girls, complete strangers, or her room mates, but not any of her teachers! This was too embarrassing! So embarrassing that she could die! She's so glad this was set in voice mode, so she can properly hide her super red face.]

I... I was doing nothing! R-Really!

[Be glad that he's so use to using the voice feature, that sometimes he forgets to use the video one even though he knows the Dreamberry has such a feature.]

Oh goodness, are you all right? I'm deeply sorry if I upset you.

[Okay Sayaka, BREATHE. Calm down. Okay.]

Ah, no... You don't really need to apologize! I'm not upset at all! I was just surprised that the Dreamberry was recording me all of a sudden.

[... Ugh, he heard all of that, didn't he. Well, he did say that he believed in magic, so maybe she could tell him...]

... You know how I said I though magic existed? It's because I can use it. As for the random shouting I was doing... It has something to do with a type of story genre popular in Japan during my time.

You are able to use magic as well, Miss Sayaka? That's amazing. And I see... I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that, but if you wish to tell me more in detail some time I will gladly listen.

[Amazing? Sometimes, Sayaka wonders if her abilities could be described as such.]

It'll be a bit of a long explanation, but I don't mind.

You see, back home, a popular subject in show or book plots is the concept of a 'magical girl'. It usually involves a girl or group of girls around their teenage years gaining magical powers somehow and using them to defend people from anything disrupting the peace. The moral of those stories is usually 'love, justice, and courage will always win.' Of course, these stories are mostly intended for children, so they tend to include some fun theatrics, like whenever the girls need to transform into their magical alter-egos, they say some sort of cute catchphrase.

[Phew, that was a lot. Sayaka didn't really read much manga, but anyone in Japan would know that much.]

I used to think it was just a work of fiction, but...

I find what you say a bit amusing since I was the same as you, I use to think magic and adventuring were only in fiction. But when I entered my dream world where I obtained magic and became a bit of an adventurer myself, I realized that maybe it wasn't simply stuck to the pages of a fictional book. [He kind of reminiscences on his journey for a moment, but then remembers he's talking to her.] But thank you for the explanation Miss Sayaka, I found it very fascinating. Although what do you mean by "show" do you mean a play or opera?

I see...

[She debates whether or not to tell him that being a magical girl wasn't as great as she thought it would be, but thankfully Frederic changes the subject.]

I guess you could equate it to a play. You know how the Dreamberry can let you see people from far away? In my time, some people use that kind of technology to act out roles to show a story. A popular one for the magical girl genre is 'animation'. It's when a sequences of drawn pictures are shown quickly to make it look like the picture is moving.

Ah yes, I was always curious as to the technology of how the Dreamberry made things move within in. That indeed sounds so fascinating and I'm rather interested in learning more about moving pictures or any other knowledge from the future you can offer.
