For spazzo47, who requested Jack, Jack and Sydney, and Jack with one of his grandchildren. Rating: PG Summary: Jack's back, and Rambaldi was wrong all along.
I like this very much -- ESPECIALLY the first exchange between Jack and Vaughn. The Q&A between Sydney and Jack is good too, and I loved him holding little Jack. :) Thank you for this!
Honestly, when I signed up for this I never envisioned writing first-person snarky!Jack. I'm still not entirely sure it works, but thanks for both the kind feedback and for the challenge. It got me writing something I would never have attempted otherwise.
This story just has a lovely sense of contentment to it. Jack's sentiment on immortality, which is one I echoed in my own entry for this challenge, really works well within the context of the fic. I also love how Jack realizes that his immortality will change his relationship with Sydney- he's nothing if not pragmatic.
I must have flunked LJing or something. This is just beautiful. I can't say enough. The emotion between Syd and Jack was absolutely perfect. It nearly got me to tear up when she put her head on his shoulder. I knew he knew that he hadn't given her the red bike from the look on her face, but I didn't expect him to remember what bike he DID give her and when. Thank you so much for writing for me. THis was absolutely wonderful.
