sareth_stories wanted me to write something modern!verse so modernverse it is, plus there were discussions of Queen
over here, and... asfggkl what is this
At least they had decided on a game; really, Alan figured, Will was supposed to be playing Silent Hill (again), but after a few phone calls and pleas, and the rest of the guys visiting, they had decided on a party game, something they all could play.
Now it was just a matter of which song to bloody do.
"How about 'Good Vibrations'?" Grell was the first to suggest one, and of course the rest of them joined in a chorus of a groan.
Ronald tapped his controller with a drum stick. "'Saturday Night'! That's a good one, nice and lively-"
"'Rehab'!"
"'Smoke on the Water'!"
Eric frowned and made the cursor scroll up with his guitar. "Let's do something we all can do. We don't have a keyboard, but let's do some Queen. There's something in there for everyone."
"Okay, okay," said Grell and Ronald - after all, it was a rather sensible idea, even though it was coming from Eric.
Alan grinned. Will said nothing.
So they started. It was true they didn't have a keyboard; Grell was next to him, the microphone between them, and Alan could swear he could detect what breath mints Grell had used that morning. Something citrusy, at least.
But Alan kept his smile and looked at Will, once or twice, during the beginning portions of the song - this was Queen, this was Bohemian Rhapsody, one of their greatest songs, certainly Will could appreciate this?
The fact that he had bought Will Queen's Greatest Hits album earlier that day was beside the point.
And what was that?
He could hear another set of voices in with his and Grell's.
Eric was singing - this was no surprise. And Ronald had a habit of singing "Don't Stop Me Now" at the pub all the time.
But was that Will singing?
Along to rock music?
"Sometimes I wish I'd never been born at all...."
Yes, that was Will singing.
Fine then, he figured. Alan started to belt it.
Fortunately, everyone else did too.
And Will continued. "I'm just a poor boy, from a poor family..."
"....WILL NOT LET YOU GO!"
Yes, Alan smirked. No, he would not let Will go.
And maybe they would have more music appreciation later.
