I love the Kate Daniels verse by Ilona Andrews, but haven't really read anything else of theirs. This one sounds interesting.

I enjoy the Kate Daniels books, although I've fallen behind (and haven't tried any of the side series), but I also enjoyed Ilona Andrews' Edge books -- Bayou Moon was a particular favorite. This was the first sci-fi Ilona Andrews I've read, though, and it was fun!

I had to chuckle at Kamala's brother's Goth past ... of course.
And I also thought the Illumin-Aunties joke was cool.
I know a bit about the partition from ... Doctor Who!!! I always meant to read up about it but forgot ...

The Illumin-Aunties is a great joke! I could see people adopting that to use in real life, it's such a great phrase.

Now I'm trying to remember where I first learned about the Partition... might've been some historical fantasy, actually... I'm pretty sure I didn't learn about it in school...
