Oooooh ... shiny ... I didn't know there was a new RoL graphic novel.
I hopped over to Amazon and ordered it right away.

If I'm reading the novel's blurb correctly, it looks like this GN is actually set later than Amongst Our Weapons, so I guess they can be read in either order. But I did think it was one of the more interesting comics installments, so hope you enjoy it as well!

I'm planning to continue ignoring this category, at least until Saga returns to the ballot, I guess.

If you don't care for Kieron Gillen stuff, I won't comment on Once & Future. However, I highly, highly recommend giving Lore Olympus a try. You don't even need to get a book to do so. It's a web comic on Webtoon. You can try it just by looking it up over there. I am very excited by its making it to print, but it wasn't made to be read that way. It was made to be scrolled through. Give it a try sometime.

Oh, that's good to know, actually! I read through the first episode, and the art is going to take some getting used to for me, but I do like the "Greek gods in modern times" subgenre, so thanks for the rec :)

It's not that I necessarily don't care for Kieron Gillen stuff, it's more that graphic novels and comics (and other form of visual storytelling) generally tend to not be my thing, with Brian K. Vaughan just happening to be an exception for reasons I don't fully understand -- something about his approach to visual storytelling aligns better with how I process narrative than anything else I've tried in that medium. I did read the first several titles of The Wicked + The Divine, and was intrigued by a lot of the ideas and liked a lot of the art, but it's very rare for me to get sufficiently invested in a comic that I'll actually follow it -- Sandman and Saga are really the only ones that I stuck around with.

I thought it might help entice you--both by being easy access and by being in a different format than the usual Graphic Story nominees.

I read through the first episode...

Already? That's great!

...the art is going to take some getting used to for me...

It took me a bit to get used to the panels reading vertically rather than horizontally. I mean I read both western comics and manga so I'm already used to reading both left to right, and right to left. It was just top to bottom being a new one for me. The art itself I like. I may have both a Lore Olympus blanket and socks...

...but I do like the "Greek gods in modern times" subgenre, so thanks for the rec :)

You're very welcome!

Ah, understood. Makes me all the more pleased I thought to rec Lore Olympus. I'm much more a verbal learner than visual so I'd ( ... )
