I need to note the Novik book to read once I'm done with Temeraire series. Pride and Prejudice take sounds right up my alley.

It's an skippable book, but the P&P retelling is very fun! :)

I forget which Temeraire book you're on at the moment, but if you're past Victory of Eagles, nothing in that specific story is spoilery, except for things that are, you know, history.

Ohh, I didn't even realize that the Temeraire (spinoff? artbook? AU-artbook collection?) was even a thing! Though Lizzie would totally be a wonderful captain (what's that make Darcy then- Regal Copper since he's full of air?) :D

Rivers of London has been on my to read list for ages now, and I even have the ebook but it's been just sitting there, waiting. One day.

AU-artbook collection seems about right :P (the hard copy book is probably very pretty! But also $20+, so, no. The ebook is much more reasonably priced, although it is a very slender volume.)

Lizzie as an Aerial Corps captain MADE SO MUCH SENSE! (there's fanfic like this, too, I know, but I enjoyed Novik's take considerably more.) If Darcy were a dragon, he would TOTALLY be a Regal Copper! full of his own importance and all.

Rivers of London has been my favorite fandom discovery of the last *checks tags* five years at least. I love the world and the narrator and the characters, and it's currently one of my two "lock myself in a room when the new book comes out, don't come out till I'm done" series. I will admit that not everybody I've gifted/lent/pimped this series too has been as taken as I am -- a couple of people with otherwise fairly compatible tastes to mine have bounced off or simply been meh -- but I love it a whole lot, and hope you will to, when you get around to reading it :)

Your icon is adorable :D

And Darcy looking down on Lizzie cause of she's just a Longwing in part cause she's female, ahaha. Who needs P&P+zombies when we can have P&P+dragons?

That's kind of the general impression I've gotten from my flist? There's people like yourself who really like it, but there's also others who were more or less neutral on it. It does help that I have the ebook sitting on my phone, so one day!

Thank you! (Perscitia is my FAVORITE :D I knew I had to have an icon like that as soon as I saw the art. And this one, too, by t! same artist.)

Dragons >>>> zombies, obviously! :D

I hope you enjoy Rivers of London if/when you get around to reading it!

I'm still in the middle of reading The Stone Sky ... it's slow going. As much as I love the story it's hard work ...

Definitely feels like hard work to me, too. Worth it, of course, but not easy.

The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue is actually on my to-read list on Goodreads! I don't know if it's my kind of book, but it sounded interesting enough that I figured I would give it a go. Based on your review, I think I might like it enough to do a quick read, but it doesn't seem like it'll be my favorite book or anything. It's pretty low on my list anyway, so who knows when I'll get to it.

It definitely fits the bill as a quick, fun read, especially if you're in the mood for something over-the-top and don't care if it makes too much logical sense.
