I'm just here to laugh at "Anna has a type" and also smartness and modesty curves :DD and I DIDNT THINK OCTOPUS EMISSION WAS CRITICAL SORRY XDD Plus, I think, A. had mentioned it in her review? So I considered my job done lol.

<33 at shared-for-company canons and ridiculous cosplays and sestinas - let's never stop! :3

Anna most definitely has a type :P

It's OK! I have forgiven you for withholding critical critter information! :)

And, you are an excellent catalyst enabler fandom crack partner, my dear! <333

(P.S. I finished the Warchild fic you linked me too -- that was really good! Have you read this one (Jos-centric AU-lets)? #3 was especially relevant to my interests, and I think might be interesting to you as well.)

Now I've read it, thanks! They are all pretty cool as AUs *nods* though I still wish for more fic like that one with Ryan, with a fun and sassy narration to balance the whole sadness and brittleness. Also! As you might have guessed, I am done with Cagebird, also done reading all of warchilduniverse blog (inluding the author vignettes! there is one EXTRA cool one which you can also read, as it is after Burndive and is a lot like that fic - it's in my tag, along with a few more fanarts and even a baby Cairo with Ashrafi family vignette :DD)

PS. Also there is a tvtrope page and it literally lists Niko and Azarcon as enemy mine :DDDDD

PPS. and i'm at this stage now haha

Welll, there went my morning XD So I've read all the vignettes that looked non-spoilery for not-yet-being-done with Cagebird, and the baby Cairo and the Ashrafis one is very relevant to my interests:

“But we have to trust him. He has to feel that we trust him or he won’t trust himself.”This is really neat! Clearly this is where Cairo learned the logic he used in sending Ryan for tea-times on Nico's ship ( ... )

It doesn't even have to be competence at something I personally care about -- just being really, really good at something important is a big draw in a character for me.
Oh yes, same here, very much.

Also, I brought a couple of things for brightening your week: 1, 2 :)

I'd forgotten about the Kirk/Bones texting fic - thanks for re-linking. It was just as hilarious the second time around. :D

One thing I find odd about this challenge is the whole "In your own space" thing. Why does it not count if you talk about your love for tropes/fandom/etc somewhere else?

It was very useful to have a reason to dig it up again because looks like all the fic is gone from her LJ (or at least locked so I can't see it), so being able to bookmark it on AO3 and know how to find the rest of her stuff was very handy!

It's an artefact of the fact that the challenge prompts are posted in a central community. So they just mean, "don't post your answers to the community in the form of new post or replies to the challenge post" -- I think because part of the goal of Snowflake is to get people posting on LJ and DW more, as in, making actual posts in their blogs and generating discussion from there.

I acquired a whole... "menagerie" is the best word I can think of -- a menagerie of characters from various sources - i had it in reverse; my mary sue traveled across different canons, assisting the characters with their stuff. i remember she also was bffs with corwin and merlin (who fit into the whole multiverse scenario, and also corwin conveniently had the best fashion sense). but yep, it always was characters first, settings or tropes second.

My Mary-Sue (and friends) also traveled, but would bring the most interesting characters "home" with them.

Haha, yes! Man, Amber would've been a super-convenient fandom for me to discover at that age. It would give a whole framework to my Mary-Sue abductions XD
