Omg Justine Larbalastier!! I've been meaning to read that book for ages, I heard about it through the kerfuffle with the whitewashing/racebending of the cover, and I'm kind of mad at myself for reading your spoilers (I tried to stay away but my curiosity got the better of me). Am so relieved to hear it delivers/lives up to hype! Btw that was an excellent summary of the book, I was on the edge of my seat reading about your reactions. I will pick up a copy first thing when I get back to the States, then.

I agree with you about everything in Warriors except I liked The King of Norway more, I think, and not having read Temeraine I have no point of comparison for Novik. Sort of pointless, but fairly entertaining is Lord John in a nutshell!

Ok, I made myself stop reading your summary when I got to "Borges." Kafka is sort of eh, I could take it or leave it, but I am seriously starting to suspect I picked the wrong Melville book. Perdido Street Station is PAINFUL. I've been reading it on and off for ten months, at least, and only just ( ... )

I'm not super enthusiastic about all the supes automatically falling for her, either... definitely agree with you that it's too predictable and also, how many times can that same plot point be interesting? But the fae blood explanation makes it a little more palatable to me, because at least there's a "biological" reason and it's not just Sookie's Speshulness. (I like that she's not the only telepath, too, for the same reason.)

book!Sookie is much more likeable than TV!Sookie

Interesting!

Quinn just seems pointless. Like, did she just need a replacement hot-blooded were guy as a love interest for Sookie after things with Alcide fell apart? Because other than that, he had no actual personality or point...

P.S. I love your/Miss's icon!
