Our little boy hamster Raoul did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. We took him to the vet, along with a tiny urine sample, and she thought that due to the fact that he is clumsy and tends to fall off of things on to his well padded nether region that it was likely a "trauma event" and should clear up on its own. If he was still doing it in another day then we should bring him back.
In our case it cleared up, and he has been as normal as he ever is since.

It could be a bladder infection. My hamster peed blood b/c of an unbalanced diet. He got better after we changed to pellet food. (plus a trip to the vet)

you should go to a vet. a uti left can be serious. i just know that when cats have them, it's really annoying and hard to get rid of. i don't know about hams though...

Take him to a vet. If you find a good one, they won't cost much and will know what they're doing. The one I go costs twenty for the visit, and another twenty for the medicine, well worth it!
