feeling a bit less anxious

In the last week or two I've experienced a bout of anxiety about the state of the nation that's been much worse than usual. I think I'm feeling a little better now, though. Progesterone is brutal on the emotions, and EC contains an assload of progesterone. I would say that it's more likely than not that it helped influence your perceptions.

That's good to know, thank you. I also notice that I've been engaging in more comfort-seeking behavior (which, alas, includes sugar cravings) in the last week, which would back that up, I think.

When I am premenstral, I am sometimes a fire-breathing dragon and sometimes weepy, curled up in a corner. And sometimes I alterante between the two from minute to minute. And sometimes I am in other emotional states that intertwine as well. Sometimes when the boy finds out he hides.

Did this make you feel any better in comparison?

Bring back the moon lodge!!!;)

You know, I get that hormonal emotional black pit (which is of course different than the depressive black pit) EVERY SINGLE month, and yet nothing I do adequately prepares me for it.

Yep, what you said. Every time I think about it when I'm not in it, I think "it couldn't possibly be that bad," and then every time I get back into it it's even worse than that.

Sometimes I manage to swim in the pit of despair rather than sinking in it. But only sometimes.
