I also got lots of practice saying "no" to one particular man of persistent, if somewhat amusing, lecherousness.

was this the "my dick is so big that clowns come out of it when I cum" fellow? I have to say, it was disturbing and amusing, and whatever schtick he was doing he at least did well.. unfortunately, I have been unable to get that image out of my head since!

I've had a guy proposition me by saying "I've got rabbit hips" -- as though being pummeled by a small pneumatic hammer would cause me to do anything but run the other way! I often wonder just what they are thinking anyway!

I konw a few people who complained about how boring the con was this year. Clearly, they just don't know the right people/parties. :-)

(I realize you included a smiley, but...) I doubt that sort of response will have them hurrying back to Arisia in the future, considering that a major complaint I've heard was that "Arisia feels too full of in-groups", and thus the con felt like a let-down to them. I had a fun time myself, but I can sympathize with their situation.

Point taken. It's difficult to throw yourself into a large group you don't know and make instant connections. But are other cons not full of "in groups" as well? I would imagine it's the nature of the beast. And of people in groups ( ... )

E.g., one of the complaints I heard was that there was not enough "eye candy" prancing about in the hallways, not enough interesting and unusual costumes to gawk at, not enough opportunities for flirting and hooking up as in past years. THAT, to my mind, is certainly not the fault of the Arisia corporation. They can't control that, and they're not about to hire professional fluffers.

Good point...sometimes I think people forget that they are just as much a part of the Arisia experience as everyone else is, and have the ability to affect the overall look and feel of the con. Not enough eye candy and costumes? Dress up! Want to flirt? Flirt! The flirting may not necessarily result in hooking up, but them's the breaks.

"Be the change you want to see in the world Arisia."

I'll note that that's the 2nd piece of Mark Roland's art in the house. :)

Where's the other one? Painting or etching?
