I hope you'll continue to post lists like this. Speaking as someone who has a phobia of making phone calls, I find it extremely useful to have a script -- here's what you'll get if you call this number, here's what to say when you're connected to a human or to voicemail. That's what makes the difference between me getting up my nerve to make a phone call versus deciding to write a letter instead -- and yes, there are situations where a letter would make more sense, but the ones you list here are not them.

It helps me to have a script, too. I tend to freeze up when speaking extemporaneously, even when leaving voicemail. *facepalm* So yeah, scripts = awesome.
