Counting ebook sales

I've been following Joe Konrath's blog for some years now, cheering him on as he went from experimenting with ebooks to selling metric tons of the things every single day.

His success is gratifying, but he's a big name in his chosen genre. How would ebook sales work for the rest of us?

I don't know how well it works from an individual website--I get the vast majority of my sales via Amazon (and don't worry, I'm a nobody!) In second place, my sales come from Barnes and Noble, then Kobobooks and Sony run pretty much neck and neck.

I can see that people click from my website to Amazon or B&N.

I've been doing it a year and 1/2 -- it has worked very well for me. I'm not a Konrath or even a Karen Cantwell, but I'm doing okay for myself.

It seems if you get your book edited, pay for some decent artwork, and price the book right, readers will give you a chance. That's all a writer can ask for!

I've recommended your books for a while; I'll be sure to mention the ebooks are for sale on your website.
