Last year for my birthday Aron gave me a gift certificate for a Spa Experience at a spa/salon down on Hawthorne. I kept putting it off, partly out of laziness and partly due to deep fear of other people touching my fingernails. well, you had me at the facial part, but the rest of it sounds... not awesome. sorry the whole shebang wasn't as awesome as the beginning! i enjoy getting pedicures, and massages, but you're right, it has to be the right people and circumstances or it's rotten.

i bet your skin is all glowy and stuff, though. :)

My face definitely felt great! Soft and smelling lovely.
I am just not a manicure/pedicure person. I work with my hands, so manicures are pointless. And I don't have the cash to spend on these kinds of things, so that is life.

Massages are great, usually! This was definitely a first bad massage experience!

i hate a frustrating massage experience!! i always expect so much and when it isn't delivered, i'm bummed. i think i was seriously spoiled by my previous therapist, who was magical. since then i have found one other person who is also brilliant, but alas, she isn't practicing any more. i'll be calling around to some of the people recommended on DP recently!
