YAY!!! I'm SO thrilled you like it!! And yes, you and I share a common affinity for Lavender and Neville, so it always makes me *squee* when you approve!! *grins*
And I imagine that a lot of them killed people, even if they didn't mean to. Sadly, that's part of it, isn't it?!
I just remembered something else I wanted to say--more squee for the title! I was going to use that poem as a basis for this depressing DH funeral fic I was planning, but scrapped it. And when I saw your title, I thought of how appropriate it was for this fic! Yay for Red! And yay for WWI poetry! :)
AHH! I love it! Oh, this is a new favorite, most definitely. I absolutely love the way you used the second person and the beginning just pulls you in and then never lets go and gah, this is wonderful.
WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!! I'm so thrilled that you liked it!! I remember now that you are crazy about 2nd person - I really like it too when I want a sort of 'detached' feeling, which is what I can imagine poor Lavender felt during those moments!
Wow, what a wonderfully written story! I love Lavender's thoughts on the other characters, particularly Ron and Neville. Oh, I do agree with her thoughts about Neville! And I also love how you described the battle from her POV, tight vignettes at the beginning, and hazier after the attack. It works perfectly.
Thank you so much!! I'm thrilled you liked it!! And can't you just imagine that the battle seems so 'surreal' to them as they're experiencing it, and then recalling it?!

I really shouldn't be so squeeful about such a near-violent story, but oh man, this is fantastic.
The repetition really serves a great purpose here. It helps create a kind of "life flashing before your eyes" sensation, and oh, Lavender!
And you already know how much I love this ship!
I think my favorite part (I';m such a sadist) is Lavender killing a Death Eater. It really shows her competence, and her horror at the deed is so sad.

And I'm still shipping Neville/Lavender, no matter what any interviews might say ... *grins*
