hi, i'm just responding to your post to the applyingtograd community. sorry for teleporting here, i just wanted to be discreet.
i'd say go for the graduate-student-at-large thing. i went to UMichigan for undergrad. fell into shadiness (drugs) and disrepair, left with a 2.8 GPA and erratic grades. multiple withdrawals. oops! then one day decided to get serious. took classes at Northwestern and UChicago. really like UC. spoke to the directors of the M.A. program, explained my situation candidly, was advised to take some more classes. did so, did well, applied, got in.
rocked out, now applying to doctoral programs.
for someone like me it was worth it. i can't speak for you since i don't know the details of your academic record, but just having the chance to get to know the professors can make a tremendous difference.
hey uhm, robby/hallow000! thanks for replying to my call for help. actually i already have the bootlegs, its just that the total eclipse of the heart track doesn't work, i really don't know why, and it fuckin' irritates me! so yeah! please upload it through yousendit or sendspace. or you can just email it to me through ears_wid_feet@yahoo.com if you don't want to just give away the link. i haven't got a list up yet so, if you have anything you want, give me a holler, i'll try to be of help. and once again thanks for helping a fellow toriphile in need. huggles! - earl
