Happy New Year!

Jan 02, 2023 01:26

I've never been so glad to see a year end as this one. The fire that burned down our garage and destroyed our house was right at the end of 2021 (see this post), and the aftermath of that has taken up this entire year. It'll probably take up most of this coming year, too, but at least the house plans have finally been approved and the rebuild can ( Read more... )

I hope you'll have your new house soon and will feel really great there!

I hope it will be less than a year before they finish building it! Which still seems like forever, but the sooner the better. :D

I am so sorry for what you've been through. I can't even imagine.
Such huge changes are never easy, but I hope and pray that your rebuild will bring you joy and a sense of stability. And that this year will bring hope and love and peace into your lives.

*Huge Hugs*

Thank you so much. I hope so, too--it's been such a long, sad year, and so much of it still seems too awful to be real.

I'm hoping the next year is better for us all.

*Hugs to you*

...how did i miss the post about your house?? i'm so, so sorry about your kitty. :( and your house and being displaced and everything that comes with. what a lot of suck. may the rebuilding go off without a hitch and may you move back in and find the right places for your stuff and make the rebuilt house a home just like the old house was.

It was my only post of 2022, so it probably got lost in the noise of everything else people posted.

Losing our wonderful kitty is still the hardest blow, even with all of the incredible hassle and grief involved in processing what was lost (literally, with all of the insurance info) and doing all the planning for rebuilding the house itself.

I sure hope it feels better, once the house is rebuilt and we're actually living there again. It might take quite a bit of time for the feelings to heal, but I hope we get there.
