Caught In The Web

My head is splitting and everything smells like mold, and I swear this is the last time I let Janie drag me to one of those crazy parties nobody else even knows about.

Can I actually be this hungover? And did I have fun getting there? Ugh. I figure, whatever ( Read more... )

But where is the rest of the story??????

How did we let ourselves get drawn in to thinking about ghosts and supernatural portals, without even considering the more obvious reasons why people disappear?

That feeling you get when you realize the consequences of your actions are so much worse than you ever imagined :(

It's too dark to see, but it's cold and I'm lying on concrete. Probably someone's basement.

That's such a chilling thought to have when you come to, groggy and disoriented and not knowing where you are.

I see a few ways this can go and none are pleasant. I've been reading too many serial killer fics, sex trafficking articles on the news websites, and actual fears for daughters away at college and not knowing what they were getting into.

There were some good entries for this challenge. So many variations on the topic. Voted!

You know, because of the prompt, it never occurred to me that people might feel like there should be more to this story!

Once you get caught in a spider's web, there is NO getting out again. And that's what has happened to this poor girl, so the details of what happens next are not something anyone would actually enjoy reading. :O

Yes-- that your "silly adventure" might have seemed innocent to you, but what you were poking your nose into was very serious after all.

I totally understand why you would worry about this kind of thing for your daughters. Parents are caught between wanting their kids to be untouched by the possibility of horrible things, and wanting them to be aware enough of them that they don't endanger themselves.

Thanks so much for reading and voting!
