Oh noes!! A broken femur is no joke either! Hope he heals properly and you have the strength to carry you both. *hugs*

Thank you so much! *hugs*

His femur is broken in that it's cracked, but not broken all the way across. So it doesn't need pins or surgery, and he can walk on it (limited by the pain). It will heal in place-- it's just mostly really painful and it will be slow.

The first fall he had, about 25 years ago, he went right over onto his left hip and the bone broke all the way across in 5 places. He had to have a 6" steel plate put in there, and the recovery was awful because he couldn't put any weight on that leg at all. Both hip replacements and the pre-replacement surgery were MUCH easier than that one. /o\

You will continue to be in my prayers!

Hang in there... and try not to murder him.

Oh, K. This is terrible news. I'm so sorry to hear. Poor G! Hang in there, both of you!

It's so sad. He's such an amazing guy, and his body has let him down so many times. :(

oh, ouch. poor hsh. :( i hope his recovery isn't bad. on the other hand, that walker bag is amazeballs. it looks like a regular satchel type bag, just with side straps for the walker bars. so handy!

I'm hoping his pain level backs off soon. It's bad enough that this happened (again!), but having to go through this without pain relief is so much worse.

That walker bag is great, though, isn't it? Someone on Dreamwidth said she'd bought one for her walker as a result of my linking it!

Oh, angst! Fortunately, he has an excellent imagination. Perhaps he can cook up some twisted delights. ;)

I sure hope so, but in the meantime he's in too much pain (day and night) to do more than connect basic thoughts. And it leaves him sleep-deprived, of course, which doesn't help anything. :(
