You've probably seen me mention Idol before. That's LJ Idol, therealljidol- an online writing contest with story prompts and polls. I've been participating in it for the last 8-9 years now as a writer, along with other people you may know. Or be, if you've participated too!

I started reading the entries last night and some of them are so good! The poem about Tio and the portal to Puerto Rico really touched me so I left a wordy comment :D

Thanks for the heads up. I will be reading and commenting and voting more often from now on. I had no idea what I was missing.

That is so awesome, and yes-- any comments you leave are greatly appreciated.

Someone who byed-out this week wrote an incredible poem last week that I just loved-- the form, the structure, the emotions, and the language so spare but so deliberate. I was really hoping he'd be in longer, but it's not always quality or votes that cause people to leave. :( Still, here it is. He's had a lot of strong poetry over the last couple of rounds, but this one was really striking because of the brevity of the lines contrasting with the depth of the total meaning. :)
