Deadpool 2 was good, I think overall for the whole thing Deadpool 1 was better though, so I'd definitely recommend watching the first one if you enjoyed it. Though I do think the beginning and ending of Deadpool 2 were better.

Yes, these are the awesome ones. Though Captain America: Civil war is up there with those too. And I actually preferred Jessica Jones to Luke Cage.

I liked Altered Carbon, but I also had a lot of problems with it.

I'll add Deadpool 1 to the Netflix DVD list, then. Wish it was available on streaming! And that I could ever remember to add "Quadrophenia" to my watchlist...

I haven't watched Jessica Jones. I think my husband did (though maybe not all), but his favorite parts of it were Luke Cage. Unlikable characters are an issue for him, so that may have to be solo viewing for me.

I think we're about 1-2 episodes away from the end of Altered Carbon? They just took a major detour from the book's plot WRT to how Quelle's fate came about, and I'm not liking it. BUT... the rest has really been impressive.

Maybe I should read the book. My main issue is that it seems like they keep saying he was framed as a terrorist when he was a freedom fighter, but it feels like he was just a terrorist. Also that at the beginning the point is made with the little girl having to be in the old ladies body and is all 'see how corrupt this is this poor little girl has to be in the old ladies body' but it's like, if it was the way they wanted it, that girl would just be dead, so it's like, well at least she isn't dead as she would be in your world, maybe be less righteous, you know.

I really liked the book. It's very sci-fi noir, and full of fascinating ideas. But yes, some of the details are getting left out (because it's a complicated 'universe' to try to explain during television). For instance, if someone dies but their body can still be repaired or reused... their body (sleeve) can be sold to someone else to use. So, people with money have the ability to retain their own bodies or the bodies of family members, and download into repaired versions if they wish. People without money may be stuck in the data-cloud until their family can afford to sleeve them into SOMEONE, and meanwhile the family may have to witness, say, their dead child's body walking around with someone else inside it. Which would be just awful

We saw DP2 on Sunday, and laughed non-stop. I second seeing 1 as well. It's really funny! Dis you stick around for the bits tucked into the credits? The Green Lantern snark was great!

I'm really sad they cancelled designated survivor. :( I had a feeling they might, but really hoped they wouldn't.

We stayed through so long that we were still there through the succession of awful credit music, in case there were more little extras!

Aw, I hadn't heard that about Designated Survivor. OTOH, it has been kind of hard to watch in the post-election era, much like West Wing. The idealized view of what a Presidency SHOULD be is just painful in contrast to what Trump is making of it. :(

i haven't seen deadpool 2 yet but it sounds like it was a lot like the first one, which is snarky and dark and meta and more violent than i was expecting. i liked it.

well, catws is the best of the marvel movies, you know. :D i've only seen luke cage and daredevil on tv (jessica jones might be too heavy for me, from what i've heard), but of the two i think luke cage is better. so your superhero movie/tv choices are good ones.

if ebooks cost the same as paperbacks because the author was getting more money per book, i could understand, but somehow i doubt that's what publishing companies are doing with the extra profits.

I don't know where those extra e-book profits are going, but it's obnoxious that after all this time, the price is just as high as ever. :( Otherwise, I would buy those Bosch books, because I know I'll re-read them again and again over time.

I saw DP2 this weekend as well and I loved it. It's the only superhero movie I wanted to see because of the snark and meta. I left too soon during the credits, though, and missed all the Green Lantern and X-Men Origins jokes. I had to look crappy phone videos on YouTube to see them.

I had no idea the X-Men were going to come into it at all, so that was a surprise. And having not seen any recent ones, the characters there were "Huh?"

Though your comments made me remember that I needed to add any Wolverine-based stuff to my list of superhero movies I actually like. Because, WOLVERINE. :O

I liked parts of X-Men Origins, but I did not like Logan's girlfriend. She wrecked the movie for me. I did't know anything about Deadpool then so his appearance in that movie didn't offend me as much as it does now. Deadpool with no mouth? No wonder the nerdbois were up in arms.

The third X-Men movie was the beginning of my long separation from superhero films. I only return for Deadpool now. The others hurt me too much too many times. (See also: why I never watched Star Wars after Phantom Menace. That series is dead to me.)

I'm woefully behind on The Blacklist so I skipped over your review. I LOVED Ozark. I could not stop watching it. It was a never-ending spiral of "what next?". So much fun.

I started Bosch but haven't had time to really get into it.

I completely agree about e-books. It's why my Nook has more fic than books on it. Books are expensive!

I don't think I really spoiled much in the Blacklist comments. I try to be careful about that-- I'm late on watching a lot of shows too!

I would so love to see ebooks become reasonably priced. But they got away with the pricing when it all started, and I guess it's working out for them. :(
