Still lurking on the periphery here. I can't really check up on my friends-list during the day anymore, so I haven't been as present as I'd like. Mainly working, bicycling, trying to get Christmas shopping done, and hoping to get that Yuletide story done before the deadline! But also... entertainment.

I want to see Three Billboards because they filmed it here in WNC. It was a minor big deal, partly because no one knew at first what those billboards were doing along the road to Swannanowhere. I wonder how many landmarks I'd recognize.

I don't know what Missouri looks like at all, but I did think the setting was prettier and hillier than I would have expected. That fits North Carolina much better. ;)

One of the fun parts about recognizing things in movies is when building exteriors are used for completely different things, such as, "That's not a police station! That's the library!" Or creative geography: "That's not where that road goes!"

I clicked through the images on IMDB to see if I recognized anywhere and I do. This is along Highway 70.

Apparently I'm best at recognizing roads in movies. I was watching Maximum Overdrive once and I knew exactly where they were along I-40 in Eastern NC. I also recognized a few roads in Blue Velvet which was set in Lumberton NC (which I've never visited) and filmed in WIlmington (which I've passed through.)
