Your prompt led right to this story-- trying to think of something that could be illegal, slightly, but ultimately wasn't.

And oh, the chance for Mozzie and Neal to banter and have fun with this was just so tempting.

well this was unexpected! of course peter would ruin mozzie's con, and of course neal can read his mind from across the restaurant. i'm just imagining peter's "you are not going to commit a crime while i'm eating dinner with my wife" face and it makes me giggle.
