Haha, Michael is so cute here))) He should have anticipated the bluffing skill would come in handy in the future. XD

He and Lincoln are such polar opposites, too, with all of Michael's intellectually-focused games and Lincoln's um, *koff*, avoidance of same.

I liked planting the seed of irony over the bluffing concept, because THAT wound up being a skill that probably served Michael continually later in life. We sure know how useful it became at Fox River!

How are things? Haven't seen you around in awhile. :D

:D For boys so close they are so very different.

Thank you for this!

That contrast between them is one of the things I actually like so much. It's amazing they don't fight more, considering how incredibly little they have in common other than shared hardship.

But what a great opportunity for humor that contrast presents. Someone once wrote a crackFic (I think) that featured a single, repeated solution to every problem: "Linc SMASH!"

jenkster and I have very very little in common but hang out almost constantly. But it's rare.

*giggles* Oh it's so true. If Linc can't work it out, he justs hits it.

Of course Michael would want to play chess or scrabble *g* He will learn how to bluff all in good time, but in the meantime, he already knows how to elude unwanted things and lessons...
Lovely ficlet!

Haha! Unwanted lessons is right. His "enthusiasm" for poker was dim to begin with, but running out the door the second an escape opened up tells you what a stroke of luck the thought that was.

Though somehow, he learned the real lesson behind it all the same. But for one day, at least... freeeedom!

Glad you liked this one. Thanks for reading!
