This episode was such a great mix of comedy and creepiness that the tone of the story is much the same:
This place is f-ing weird, but Sam is weirder.
Because it's all about how it affects Dean.;)

Really, both the episode and this story could be summarized as
"The hotel was weird, but Sam was weirder."
Funny, too, that Sam wasn't anywhere as unnerved by the place as Dean. He's all "Whatever, business as usual" and Dean's reaction is "Creepy wall of watching dolls!"
I totally understand Dean's point, too. A few dolls is one thing, but an entire wall of them watching you? Yeesh!
