Hard to pick, but these lines stood out for me:
In moments like this, life is finally something more than just survival.
It's amazing how different everything seems when Sam doesn't always have to beg for it.
But Sam has only ever believed in himself, and the two of them together.

That's one of the hardest parts about S3-- the whole setup is so angsty, and it's hard to think of a happy ending that isn't AU. But in many ways, finding peace between the two of them is almost as good. They need it more in S3 than they did in S2!
I'm glad you liked it-- this was one of several Sweet Charity attempts started back in November, but it bogged down midway and it took awhile to see the right way to back up a little and try something new. :)

Thank goodness for that too, because Dean tries his hardest again and again to get Sam to let him go (in all senses) without ever admitting to himself that he would never do the same for Sam (and didn't, which is how they got to this point now).
The end image up them curled up together is just...perfect.
That whole idea is such a happy place for me. The combination of contentment, and Dean allowing himself to be loved, is very powerful. :)
So glad you enjoyed this! Thank you, Wendy. :)

Me too, especially because he is so stubborn about letting Sam love him back. He wants and needs it desperately, but he's so sure it isn't real that he continually shoves it away. I'm happier when he finally gives in and lets it happen!
and the bit at the end where they're watching TV side by side? *happy sigh*
That ending is so peaceful and soothing to me, and I so badly need that after the upheaval of Season 3.
For the longest time I thought this would be my Sweet Charity story, but the other one was more willing to finish. They're both about S3, but they run in slightly different directions (and one is a first-time story and the other established-- but not quite embraced-- relationship).
