Trifecta indeed! That's like a triple word score!

You're very good at dialogue. I loved this line (I could picture Linc saying it perfectly): "What's all this, Michael? I'm pretty sure this cake didn't kill itself," Lincoln said.

*grins*

It's funny, sometimes the combination of multiplechallenges kicks something off that a single prompt won't accomplish. I originally intended this as a birthday fic for the two lovely f-list people who had birthdays this week, but it didn't seem quite right for that when all was said and done. So instead, it's just this little snippet of kitchen chaos.

Thanks for your kinds words on the dialogue. I used to be utterly afraid of writing it back in the beginning, but I really enjoy it now. Trying to "hear" the characters and how they'd phrase something is fun-- especially Lincoln's dry sarcasm, or Michael's more pointed wit. :)

Lovely fic :o)

You know I love it when you give us the kidfic. This was especially nice. What would we do without you?

It seems like so much of it is kidfic, with the way canon's been going. I've got another one that I've been wrangling with for awhile, but it's a serious one. This was just for the fun of Michael's good intentions gone wrong.

And boy do I ever know about the "distracted cook syndrome." It's my nemesis. ;)

I love the idea of Michael becoming so engrossed in his book that he was completely oblivious to the impending disaster before it was too late, because, well, that's exactly what he would have done. I also love that he cleaned it all up just as thoroughly as he'd messed it all up, again because that's him.

And now I want icecream. Damn you, woman!

Oh yes - his curiosity would lead him from one thing to the next, getting more and more engrossed until... "What's that smell?" :0

And the cleaning up is like him because he's also very capable so long as he's not distracted. ;)

And now I want icecream. Damn you, woman!
:D It's my achilles heel! It never comes into the house if I can help it. Normally, I even avoid writing about it- it's that bad.

I will never say not to icecream, which is why we don't keep it in the house either. Even now, when it's freezing here and my toes are falling off into my slippers, I would happily pounce on a bowl.

See that word "bowl" above?

I never stops there for me... which is why I avoid it as much as possible!

Pope is STILL made of awesome, 3 years later. \o/

And you know you're not supposed to cook when you're alone!
Wise rule, obviously ^_^

It's a lovely ficlet. And kudos to Lincoln for saving the day!

I can see why he broke it, and I think he'd actually know what to do if a fire broke out. But the distraction thing... that's allll Michael.

And kudos to Lincoln for saving the day!
Lincoln's never perfect, but he's often very practical. They balance each other out well. :)
