Aw, poor adorable Sam biting into a lemon. I want to smile at the image but these boys as kids being shuttled so much also breaks my heart. I don't want them to know that lemons grow on trees just yet. I want them to have open-space Kansas childhoods where they have to make up stories about how lemons grow and then go ask their mom.

Oh, that Christmas episode just about did me in. Everything I'd imagined about their childhoods, but worse.

I want them to have open-space Kansas childhoods where they have to make up stories about how lemons grow and then go ask their mom.
:D Yes-- I can imagine what they'd come up with. "In the ground like carrots." "No-- on sticks planted in rows in the garden." "That's silly!"

"Lello," Sam says, holding out his prize.

That? Is SO CUTE. *melts*

I'd forgotten how often kids say "Lello," and it's probably the only baby-talk word I missed when my kids got older.

How often do you find a big ball of "Lello" right out in the yard anyway? :)

Aww, thanks so much for the lovely drabble! I love it. :) It's so nice to see the boys just being kids, enjoying a nonhunting moment. And this:

"Lello," Sam says

Too cute! I love how little kids mangle words. *g*

"Okay…" Sam pouts.

*squishes him*

Thanks again, dear! *hugs*

That one is so common-- both our kids said it, and it sounds so cheerful.

*squishes him*
:D Not everything that looks pretty tastes good, but kids sure take their time learning that one. :0

So glad you liked it! Happy Birthday!

My kids crack me up when it comes to lemons. They both love eating them, but make the most horrific faces the entire time. And my oldest, who's 5, eats the rind.

So glad you liked it! Happy Birthday!

Thanks again! :) *hugs*

Haha! "Can't stop... must eat."

And the rind-- yick! The oil is so bitter, even for oranges. :0

Hope the rest of your day goes well. :)

*dead from cute* "wait - don't eat it!" and then sam no doubt makes the cutest, most disgusted face....

My husband missed something just like this at the grocery store once, when he parked the cart too close to a food display with our 18-month-old daughter in it. Some lady saw the whole thing and told him-- Lauren grabbed a little brussel sprout, bit into it, made a horrified face and threw it back into the display, all while his back was turned. :0

Those baby cabbages are so cute, but a baby trying out a raw one? Bleh!
