After seeing my two favorite brothers in pain and desperate last night this hits the spot perfectly.

So much pain, loss, fear and heartache for both for so long makes a glimpse at a moment like this pure treasure.

What will become of them in the end :o(

Thanks so much for the lovely fic and perfectly timed pick me up.

You're the best!

I started this even before we had an inkling of just how bad things were going to get in the last two episodes. Holy-moly.

Simpler times, simpler problems-- they make for such a nice antidote to the larger issues of life.

Glad this one helped-- as time goes on, it'll still be nice and fluffy long after last night's angst has falled away. ♥

Woo-hoo! This is so charming!

Michael's always loved the vocabulary and phrases he picks up from so much reading, but maybe it's not always such a great idea to show them off-they don't sound so good when they're used against you.

Mwahaha! I love this line. It's good characterisation, and I love how it shows Michael's burgeoning, though not yet mature, mind. A few more years and he'd find an argument against that, but here wee Michael is too cute in his frustration, and Lincoln is delightful in his Michael manipulation. :)

He's got caramel on his nose from biting into the wonderfully large apple, and the whole world is now focused on ultimate taste of Fall.

*sigh* I love this line. I love the taste of fall. And baby Michael who can still love candy, before life gets in the way.

:D One of the things that's so funny about little kids is their failure to think ahead, in general. Even in this little scene, Michael is so guileless that it never occurs to him that his important "sorting" task is a lot like waving a big red candy flag in front of a trick-or-treat-deprived bull. He's all busy, busy, busy, and Lincoln has to just be Grrrrr....

*sigh* I love this line. I love the taste of fall.
Oh, me too-- in the more literal sense of taste and also the trappings of Fall (Halloween in particular). It's got childhood happiness written all over it, no matter how unsatisfactory the rest of the year might seem. After all, it's the one time where your personal budget does not dictate how much candy you get!

Hee- it's junior snark, one of my favorite genres. Although the quantities of candy here just give me very bad and obsessive ideas *ponders what's in the pantry*.

Did you see the Sam/Dean SPN Halloween story? Whoo! That's a fic of a totally different flavor. ;)

In my to read folder!

I only had three lots of trick or treaters this year, so I had much extraneous candy. Happily(?!) my family all came for dinner and took most away with them!

so I had much extraneous candy.
:D I solve that problem by buying candy I don't go overboard on. Although as a rule the Trick-or-Treaters probably don't like it all that much either, but half of them are teenagers anyway, so too bad! Hah! I'll leave you Smarties and Dum-Dum Pops and you can take it or leave it. ;)

Buying candy with any form of chocolate is a mistake for me, as that usually leads to the candy not even making it to Halloween and having to buy more! Gah.

Aww, I love it! I could definitely imagine the two of them going through something like this. You protrayed them really well.

:D Thank you! Even the description of the differences in their costumes seems very Michael and Lincoln to me-- Lincoln's being all half-assed and Michael's being full of meticulous detail.

And then there's the candy-sorting... compulsive traits like that show up in the oddest places. Sort it happily, and then dump it all back into the bag. ;)

They talk about a spin-off involving Molly when their past is screaming to be told. Love it!

"I can't believe nobody made caramel apples this year! I must have gone to a third of the apartments in this building."
I feel his pain.

I would feel his pain except that I had one (and a half) this year-- for the first time in ages. Oh, the dreaded years with braces when they were off-limits, and the other years when they were just unavailable!

Given my current problems with "caramel-apple candy corn"-- and did you know somebody now makes a "caramel apple" lollipop that tastes really authentic?-- I'm a little fixated.

Not unlike Michael, once Lincoln shows him the goods. Probably could have asked for double that candy and STILL gotten away with it. ;)

I'm jealous. I haven't had one in ages.

I must find these.

I must find these.
Green wrapper, caramel-colored lollipop (more like taffy, really).

If only making your own caramel apples with the Kraft caramels weren't so much work! Especially if you only want a couple... But they're plentiful at Apple Hill, which is that farming community about an hour from where I live. We finally made it there 1 1/2 weeks ago, before Halloween, so my Fall is "complete" now.

Love your icon from "The Pursuit of Happyness." What a heart-wrenching movie-- even when you know how it's going to turn out, the ride is still terrific. :)
