And that's fine. The best thing about Facebook, Twitter and the general increased connectivity of stuff is that news gets around really fast. The flipside of that is that in the chain of whispers and third-hand information, things get garbled, plus information that is wrong in the first place gets around really fast, and humans have an overall tendency not to repeat corrections as often or as loudly as they repeat the original incorrect news
