Ha! That wasn't my intention, really! But I think she is trying to psych hesself up for what's to come, even though she has every intention that she can fool and manipulate Sayid just as she has everyone else.
She must appear to break, to reluctantly impart some truth he can verify to show that she means them no harm.
Why do I doubt that this will work on Sayid?
Seriously, though, this is a brilliant little glimpse into a calculating, overconfident Juliet who has yet to realize that she is out of her depth in ways even she's never been before. And she does seem to see herself as innocent; she's probably better at deceiving herself than at deceiving anyone else.
Oh dear, I really hope this doesn't work on Sayid! But I do think she's going to do her very best to try to fool him into thinking she's merely an innocent victim and that she means them no harm. I'm not sure if she sees herself as innocent but I was thinking here that she's trying to tell herself that as preparation for what wants him to believe, trying to psych herself up for his interrogation and project a certain image, false or not.
