Finally! That's so sweet... :) I'm so glad they've finally gotten back together again. Is the end coming soon, now? And having them marry on Polarok's birthday is a really nice touch... :)

We're glad to have made it work too! ;) You're right, the end isn't far off now. But there will be some more; there are many things to wrap up yet.

Thanks!

Well, I hope this isn't exactly the last chapter, cause I wanna see how things settle down after this chapter. True Nooj finally chose life, and Paine accepted him back into her life, but Jarl and the twins still need to have things sorted out and know mommy and daddy are getting back together.

Besides, Gippal cant possibly miss this chance for a good ribbing, yes? ;D

Not to worry, there will be a summation and everyone will get his due. I agree the children need to be reassured that their world will be intact.

Thank you for staying on board. Your input and feedback has been invaluable. ;)

Verynice chapter here. He really was sincere this time, not sounding like he was telling her what she wanted to hear like usual. It's no wonder she accepted his apology. She would have seen through anything else anyway- smart woman she is.

It's about damn time he 'got it', lol.

I have this wild impulse to insert a section in which Nooj takes it all back and they have to start over again. (Only because this has been such fun to write and I dread the ending of it all.)

I am so glad his sincerity came through. It was a hard section for me to deal with.

Thank you for your constancy and your comments. ;)

Yes! I agree with the others -- finally! We've been waiting for this for a long time.

Great work on the writing, as always.

I think your explanation of Nooj's change is excellent. The reason he was seeking death, and the reason he's turning away from it. I'm in awe. This is a great explanation for it and I really like how it works.

After all these years of digging, Ikon, I think you've finally hit it -- that huge diamond you were looking for. You've dug up some valuable pieces in the past, uncovered some monumental finds, but this takes the cake (pardon me as I mix my metaphors). I feel like reading this one chapter by you two was well worth all my time spent in this fandom.

Wow! Ry, I really do not know how to respond to all that. You are entirely too kind and I am not sure we (or I, anyway) deserve such praise. Thank you very much. So we have answered some of your questions, have we? That is always good to hear but I remind you this is an Alternate Universe and I am not at all certain Nooj would come to the same conclusion under another set of circumstances. I have this wild notion that there are other diamonds and rubies and emeralds still buried in the complicated character I have been obsessed with over all these years. Stay tuned.

Thank you again for your careful readings and your valuable commentaries. You have given both KJ and me much joy in pleasing you. ;)

I'm not so sure it's an Alternate Universe at all. I could easily see this entire fic -- and, indeed, the one prior to this -- happening post-game in the same universe. But, again, you are the Noojmaster (it sounds vaguely like a dress sphere) and you know best.

But still, for me? It's a rather startlingly large diamond. I bet Elizabeth Taylor would covet it. If only she were in fandom!

Kj agrees with you about the AU business. I am not sufficiently steeped in the fanfic diction to be perfectly fluent, so I will yield to the pair of you. Still I can imagine other paths even for this story. Of course, they would probably lead to a Shakespearean blood bath at the end. Hah!

I am glad you still see the Diamond as Big as the Ritz. You may wear it if you wish. ;)

Thank you! It's always good to hear when such a key scene works well for our readers. :)
