Is it reassuring in some way that Grindelwald is not like Voldemort? Besides being 'dangerous' and using dark magic. Gellert thinks Voldemort is an egotistical fool. XD He doesn't know anything about him at his current age here but when he did find out some things about him before he really hates being compared to Voldemort and what he stands for. He has good intentions with twisted, extreme methods...
It's possible that Snape could be a good influence under the right circumstances, like Albus was and could have been more of. One thing Gellert admires is intelligence and (as long as he's not being argued with) he'll listen to reasonable ideas.
Reassuring, yes, but the thing is Snape loves his Dark Arts. He might end up getting too enthralled with conversing with Gellert and forget that he's supported to be trying to keep Gellert from doing evil things. xD Hence why he's a threat to Snape as a person. BUT - Snape does want to try and stop Gellert from going down a bad road if he can - he just doesn't necessarily trust himself to do it on his own. xD
It'll be interesting to see how their relationship goes.
Yes, Gellert uses any spells he likes, without considering whether they're dark or not. Or that he shouldn't. He's not big on restraint. But his most dangerous idea is, of course, getting rid of the Statute of Secrecy. (A view he shares with Crocker, part of the reason they get along so well. XD)
Draco's more prejudiced than Gellert (at least the way I play them), but Gellert has no regard for anybody's safety (including his own - he really has no fear). Which is why he's so careless about using people for 'experiments', even if he does maintain that they volunteered.
