I decided to skip over my last two "Women Screwed By Canon" because I want to focus on The Happy.

FUCK YEAH, VAN BUREN. True story: when I was thirteen or so and having problems with classmates, my moma dvised me to "be more like that lady lieutenant from Law&Order!" Sage advice if I ever heard it.

That is sage advice! When I get frustrated with other L&O characters, I often think that they should just take classes on civil procedure, the Bill of Rights, proper police behavior and just being a sensible person from Anita van Buren!

I'd like to see Elliot Stabler get sent to Van Buren Class. Mostly because he'd never make it out alive.

LOL, he's the first detective I thought of who needed lots of Van Buren education.

OMG, Anne?! I loved all the installments of the films (can't say the same for the books...). Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I loved Anne of the books but Megan Fallows was brilliant in the role and really added something.

Yay for Anne and Patty! (Don't know the others).

It’s because Anne actually found what she was looking for at the beginning of Anne of Green Gables

Oohh, good point. Anne's later docility has always bothered me--more than Jo's, in fact--but you're right, she does achieve her life-long goal.

chaila43! This like a celebrity commenting- your Awesome 32 Days of Awesome Women that you posted in this community inspired me to create one of my own.

PATTY HEWES. I do not think I have anything to say that you didn't say already, but I love her and her show so much. And I absolutely adore that her antagonistic relationships are with men and not women and that her relationship with Ellen has a genuine element of mentorship in it (also attempted murder, but, you know, DETAILS).

I honestly wanted a longer post on Patty but it's challenging writing a full essay before the complete story. Pondering that made me even happier that DirectTV decided to save the series. Patty Hewes's story is definitely not over!

Consider this the carrot. You don't want the stick.
