Went to the SASE GLBT reading tonight. Curt Lund. I've said it before; I'll say it again: the man is a wonder. He read the Kansas piece again, which made me quite literally bounce with glee. And then he read a piece about Las Vegas which made me ( Read more... )

Go Curt... puffpastry October 10 2003, 18:53:14 UTC
I'm bummed that I missed both Curtie and William (who I've met, read, and seen read -- I love his work!)! I suspected it would be great and fun -- how could it not be!? Like, how big was the audience? And YOUR playreading sounded fantastic -- I'm SO happy that you got so much out of the experience! Yayyy! What was your play about, and do you have plans for shopping it around to theatre companies or something like that?

Good times, good times. I only wish I was participating more...

There were about 15? people at the SASE reading. When we were standing around afterward (me? Stand around? Never!), Chloe came up to Reichard & said, "I know you couldn't hear it, because we were trying to be quiet, but you got a lot of, 'Oh, wow's." After that the conversation veered into Mormon territory, & it was all downhill from there. ;-)

My play is about 2 actors - 1 openly gay, the other unopenly - who get cast as straight cops in a very bad TV drama. The media starts picking up on homoerotic undertones between the characters in the show, & the 2 actors have to run around trying to 'fix it.' I have no idea what I'm going to do with it - besides do some revising.
