I am honored to count among my friends here in lj land many creative types. Not just the "usual" creative types of artists and performers (though you are legion) but a lot of general creative thinkers and problem solvers, who bring fresh approaches to parenting, home maintenance, and even desk jobs. • Alonzo Mourning's ability to dress.
  • Rachel Ray's ability to maintain her verve regardless of what's on fire.
  • Ani DiFranco's ability to continuously write seemingly personal stories once every five minutes so that she can release three albums a year.
  • fayde's ability to translate a random thought, like "ooh i should make a seahorse" into art. Although, at the same time, it's good that we don't have the same skills, so this would be the first to go when cutting the list down.
  • Allen Iverson's cross over dribble. Not necessarily the dribble itself, but a) the physical coordination and skill that i've never really had, and b) the proficiency to actually create a game breaking move.

-Jack Kirby's ability to create ideas at such a rapid pace he can work them into his art fast enough

-John D MacDonald's ability to put social commentary into anything he writes in such a way that it never stands apart from the story, but interweaves into the story and characters he writers.

-Tarentino's dialogue. I am constantly in awe of his ability to write dialogue that is, all at once, storytelling, poetry and stand up comedy.

-Stan Lee's ability to connect with people through words. He wasn't the greatest writer, an idea man or a man who could craft great dialogue, but he bonded with his audience in such a way that everyone who reads him feels like he's their friend.

-Mario Puzo's ability to get paid enormous amounts of cash for writing that is, to be blunt, utter and complete shit.

Down to 3, it's the ideas, the dialogue and the ability to get paid...and down to one, it's the ability to get paid, because I fear that I write complete and utter shit.
