Despite possessing a love of language that borders on the obscene combined with the sense of humor of a 15-year-old boy, I try not to snigger at non-English names that have unfortunate English false cognates. I'm sure "eli" means something funny in their language, too ( Read more... )

The American Family Association put a filter on their website OneNewsNow that would automatically replace the word 'gay' with 'homosexual'. Attention was brought to it when they ran an article on "Tyson Homosexual" qualifying for the Beijing Olympics. It has since been removed, but think of the fun!
