Either Haley shouldn't take a Mary Sue test, or the cast of PT is sparkily. Or both.

I'm feeling bored right now, so on a lark, I decided to run Johanna and Uhrmacher through a Mary-Sue test...and then compare them to other PT characters. XDXD Even though I'm pretty sure neither is a real Mary Sue. For the cannon characters, I'll be answering questions like " Does the character share more than one of your hobbies or interests?" as ( Read more... )

XDDDDD I took that quiz for Fakir once and got a similar score. For some reason, Mytho being an OMG Unredeemable Sue highly amuses me. I also think characters who have a lot of angst add to the Sue-age. XDDD;;

Geez, my notifications are STILL not coming in. D= Wry?

XDXDXD Pretty much EVERY character in Princess Tutu has angst, as well, so that doesn't help much. Except for Drosselmeyer. He doesn't have any angst.

...Really, now I'm REALLY impressed with Uhrmacher's score. XDXDXD It's like "BEHOLD MY UN-SUE CHARACTER IN THE SEA OF ANGST!" (....And he has a heck of a lot of angst, too.)

I don't think any of the characters are TRUE Mary Sues, though, even Mytho. It's just sort of part of being in their universe, thanks to magical powers and angst galore, etc.

The lowest score I've ever gotten on one of these is an 8, but that's beyond the issue.

From what I can see, Johanna is one of those characters who could be written as a Mary Sue, or could be written as a well-balanced character. You do the latter. The next guy might do the former. (shrug) But since you're currently the only one writing about her, then she's not a Sue. Yes? No? Maybe?

Uhrmacher's score is entirely accurate, though. <3 I <3 Uhrmacher and his awesome well-balanced character-ness. I think it's Uhrmacher's well-balanced-ness is what makes Johanna not a Sue.

Mary Sues and Princess Tutu would not get along very well. XD Especially Fakir Sues. Bwahahahaha.

I think to be an interesting character it helps to have at least some of these qualities. XD; It's not critical, but there's some great characters that, say...have a defining birthmark or memory loss.

^_^ I'm glad I'm managing to write her well-balanced! I maybe shouldn't've made her a singer as well, but I liked the connection to Jenny Lind. XD;;

Uhrmacher is GREAT. I wish I had more of a chance to write him. (Part of me wishes I hadn't've killed him off, but I suppose it had to be done.)

XDXDXD Fakir-Sue would be scary. Like...Emo-Sue. XD

Well, yeah. I think it's mostly a combination of those things that send up Mary Sue flags. Such as, if you have a character named Raven "The Slayer" Sablehair who has wings, amnesia, a heart-shaped birthmark on her left shoulder, and a dragon as a pet, then you may have a problem. O_o

Nah, I like her as a singer. Plus, you don't mention the fact that she's a singer enough so that it's "ZOMG SHE'S THE BEST SINGER EVAH." It's just... there.

(I may have to start writing Uhrmacher into fics, if I'm not careful. XD;) Silly Uhrmacher. Going and getting yourself killed by the author.

I saw a Duck Stu once. O_o It terrified me, because he was competing with Fakir for Duck's affections. (now has an urge to mockingly write a story of Fakir meets Mouself's clichèd Mary Sue, Raven "The Slayer" Sablehair)
