Thanks, Kitty, she was pretty special. We don't have that many big cats at the zoo any more, so that's another one down, but such is life.

I am so sorry. Thanks for the link to her story. Hubby and I love zoos, we often incorporate them into any trips we take. Hopefully the breeding programme will continue and be a success. It would help Auckland a great deal to have a new cub to celebrate and perhaps take the sting out of losing Nisha as well. Although I'm sure she will be missed for a long time to come.

Yay! I'm glad your twin tigers are doing so well! There's still hope for us with Nisha's sister and Oz to come, so I feel a bit better, but it's still sad for Nisha as she was only nine. Apparently she too may have had cancer.
