En las calles de Madrid ya se siente el fichaje de James Rodríguez por el club merengue... pic.twitter.com/Y0erZEK6Lz - Marca Colombia (@diariomarcaco) July 20, 2014
He impressed me during the WC. Can't remember the last time a player in his early twenties put an entire team on his shoulders and excelled. I'm all for this. There's potential to build a team around a "#10" (+ Isco), instead of trying to build a team around Cris like we've done recently. Plus, he's young - there's the possibility of something long-term with him.
The Keylor Navas thing is seriously confusing me. It sounded like RM paid the clause to Levante last week and was already in the process of negotiating with the player, no? So...is the club just waiting to offload either Iker or Diego before they make the announcement? And uh, I guess the key question here is...which one are we getting rid of then?
I really liked him in the World Cup. But 90M is an awful lot. And I don't really like the trend of trading a bunch of midfielders every season. Instead of building a team that can play together for a few seasons, the club needs to have the newest and shiniest players. It gets a bit tiring.
Hmm. Feeling a little torn because on the one hand: YESSS he's a fantastic player, magnetic personality, super adorable, young and so full of heart. But on the other hand, hell no to that WC-inflated price tag. Add that onto the fact that it's Monaco, and they literally bought him last summer for 45 million, and it is all just...horrifyingly much. And aren't we buying Falcao from Monaco as well? Can't we get a discount for multiple purchases or something?
But. I feel like I was too negative last summer with the Bale thing. So here's a note of positivity: at least we didn't buy Suarez. Instead of doing this will-we-won't-we dance with the biter, we are courting what seems to be a really nice kid. A really nice kid who practically offered himself to us on a silver platter with an apple in his mouth with those quotes this summer. It's no wonder Flo couldn't hold himself back.

He also got further in the competition.
He also did it against WAY bigger teams - England and Argentina.
But now he's left, he's crap ;)

I like how you referred to ENG as a big team ;)
