Question for you guys

Do you believe anonymous speech online is a good thing or a bad thing? Do you think people have the right to say what they wish online without fear of being sued/fired/whatever? If so, why? If not, why not? I've been reading up on this lately and I'm curious what you guys think.

I am two minds about it. I am very shy and have a hard time saying what I think. By allowing people to post anonymously is a bit of a comfort to me. But then again, if certian things are being said about me I would want to know was saying them
