How annoying.

EDIT: Anyone know of any sites that allow for furry fiction? I want to find a place for my story, so I can get more feedback on it...

Yeah, that is annoying! Glad you were able to catch the little bugger before it caused to much drama, and got to kick the idiot that sent it to ya.

Thanks for that article. Interesting stuff. I've never been into barbie, but it doesn't seem to be too hard to figure out why she's being trampled in foreign markets. Culture is about more than clothes... you'd hope anyway! lol!

my cousins are still trying to get rid of it from their computer, though. I don't know whether that guy had sent it to them by accident or not, but either way he's in trouble.

*nods* yep! I think that the other dolls didn't take off as well as the Fulla one, because their manufacturers were too caught up in the one-dimensional idea of a doll with a veil or a scarf that they assumed that that would be more than enough to ensure high sales. Like the people from New Boy (who made the Fulla doll) said, you're not just selling a doll, you're selling a CHARACTER for them to relate to.

I don't actually know that much about the Fulla doll, though, as I don't own one or know someone who does, but from what I've heard she's adorable. The mod of islam-feminism isn't Muslim, but she owns two of them :3

Though I generally oppose all dolls in general (children should look to their parents, not toys as role models) I must say that is pretty interesting as an alternative.

Yeah, when it's KIDS it all falls down to the parents. No one's ever gonna say, "I became a world-reknown Noble prize winner, all thanks to my dolly!"

I can't understand (speaking/regional) Arabic, but the commercial for the Fulla doll looks quite cute. Even Though she wears black for going out, she still seems very girly and sweet (which, I'm grossly assuming, the other 'Muslim dolls' couldn't achieve):

According to the article above, there's a line that goes 'I can tell her my secrets', which probably explains the shushing.

It's weird...I really want to say something that attacks Barbie, now. X3;;;

There's something.. surreal about that commercial, it made me laugh. I quite like the beat of the music, and her dancing. XD

Then the fuzzy feeling disappear when I see her dressed from head to toe in black (something I always associate with widows.) But she definitely seems more 'relateable' and down to earth than Barbie.

Somehow, she does...yeah.

Hee, I've seen many a woman dressed in these kind of black clothes, but the commercial seems to make whatever negative feelings I have towards them disappear. Funny, huh?
