Looking for old newspapers

Okay, this is a long shot, but I'm trying to find any of the Seacoast or Portsmouth newspapers for the summer of 1902 ( Read more... )

Doesn't Portsmouth or environs have a local historical society?? An event of that scale would surely have been noted, and artifacts kept.

I would think footwork might help here. Visits to the local libraries and historical societies in person might be the best way to go.

My mom says that the NH State library is known to have copies of NH Gazette (Portsmouth) from the 19th and 20 Centuries. NH Historical Society library is in the same building, but you are probably a regular there, eh? Portsmouth also apparently has an Atheneum... cool ( ... )

The Portsmouth Athenaeum is an amazing building. Most of this is stuff I already knew, but as you said, better to have things repeated than missed. Thanks!
