This is the first image in the Wikipedia article on transgender. I don't often get stopped dead by a picture on teh Internets, but this one hit me. So simple, yet so powerful.
Why? From the photos I've seen, you're just as pretty, and if it's the fact she's brave enough to be at a protest, well, I've been itching to do more of that and I'll be your protest-buddy if you want. :) I got to participate in the protests when Gene Robinson, the first gay Anglican bishop, got consecrated at my college's facilities (we were the biggest auditorium available) and the "God Hates Fags" assholes came out just for the occasion. A large group, including me, came out to show our support for the Bishop and the Anglican church's decision. It was an incredible feeling, being able to stand up for my beliefs in equality and tolerance, with people I'd never met standing in support on either side. I don't much like politics, but I like a good protest when it's a cause I support. I just wish I lived closer to hotbeds of such activity.
Can't help you on the whole "Being in Paris" thing, though. :P
