A hazy shade of winter

I seem to have a moderate case of food poisoning. The cheap Chinese place we went to for lunch yesterday has done me in. Who would have thought? I'm fairly shocked, actually, that it would come from a restaurant and not one of our own pots or pans, considering the not-exactly-sterile conditions around here. So in general, what kind of vessel is this to be? I'm presuming it's got some historic influence, but how much? What kind?

Need a gunner? Navigator (I'm willing to even get trained properly)? Communications dude?

This is going to be a reproduction vessel of the kind common to fishermen and coastal trade during the period 1760-1820. She looks much like a pinky schooner. She's going to be more accurate than Merganser (though Merganser isn't too bad off). If nothing else, she's going to be much sleeker and faster - easier to row if necessary, too.
