I have... A duty to myself, a duty as a vice captain, a duty to my friends, and a duty to my zanpakuto.

Tobiume tends to come first, because without her, I cannot carry out the rest. I just need to know where she lies. If she is confused too, then I really don't have much hope in sorting myself out. I'll be alright, though. She's the kindest spirit I've ever known.

Don't you wish you are free of those duties? It can be such a heavy burden at times.

Hmph.

But if you already made up your mind, I shall say nothing more.

I cannot argue against my own choice. I wanted to be a shinigami, and while sometimes that has caused me pain... It's what I am now. It's a way to protect those I care about, and for that, I would do anything.

Opinions can change in a heartbeat, but I can hope that what I do is best for me. I know my friends can defend themselves if it comes to it, but I still want to be there for them.

Duties can be heavy, I agree, but they help shape us the same as anything else we experience. I may put aside my sword and badge one day, but I'd never stop caring about my friends.

You still don't sound completely cheered.

We're still missing Kiyone's sword, and we don't know why they were taken in the first place.

...And apparently Nell is incredibly upset.

It's a little hard to be fully relaxed.
