I like your answer. Also, when you are hungry, your body will use energy that would normally be used to fuel your brain to perform other necessary body functions. It's biologically impossible to think about anything else when you are starving.

We studied hunger in a bunch of my nutrition classes. Some information I learned that totally shocked me was this: If the fields used to grow hops for alchol in the US alone was instead used to grow edible grains, the entire world would have enough food. Sad that instead of feeding the world, the effort is put into beer.

(I did have someone point out to me, though, that the hops isn't used entirely for drinks. It is also used in medicine... but I don't know the percentages or anything.)
